Navigating Life’s Transitions: You’re Not Alone

Life is full of transitions—some expected, some not. Whether you’re starting a new school, changing careers, entering adulthood, navigating relationships, becoming a parent, or adjusting to life after a loss, these moments of change can be overwhelming. Even positive transitions can stir up uncertainty, anxiety, or grief as we let go of one chapter and step into another.

As a therapist, I’ve seen how life’s shifts can feel both exciting and disorienting. And while discomfort is often part of the process, you don’t have to move through it alone.

My name is Samantha Serbin, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate. I founded Better Together Therapy because I believe that healing and growth happen best when we’re supported—when someone walks alongside us to help make sense of the messy parts and remind us we’re capable of moving forward.

At Better Together Therapy, I work with adolescents, young adults, and families navigating change, uncertainty, and identity. Through thoughtful, collaborative care, my goal is to help you or your child feel more grounded and confident during life’s hardest (and most transformative) moments.

This blog series is dedicated to exploring the many transitions we experience across the lifespan. Each post will focus on a specific kind of shift—big or small—and offer reflections, encouragement, and practical tools to help you manage what’s next with a little more clarity and a little more compassion for yourself.

My hope is that as you read these entries, you feel seen, understood, and gently reminded:
You don’t have to do this alone. We really are better together.

If something resonates and you’re curious about therapy for yourself or a loved one, I’d love to connect. You can learn more or schedule a consultation by visiting the Better Together Therapy website.

With warmth,
Samantha Serbin, LPC-Associate
